Hi guys and gals, tonight’s post is a really good one for something that happens to the best of us…losing motivation to workout. It happens to everyone at some point in time, the complete and utter lack of motivation to get our rear end’s in gear and go workout.
Yahoo! Fitness Center has an awesome article up on more tips to stay motivated than you’ll even need. Just a few of them will have you hard-wired to never skip a workout again. Some of the ideas are simple, like setting realistic goals, and making workouts fun, but nevertheless they are a fresh reminder on ways to fight through one of the most discouraging aspects of a fit lifestyle…not being motivated.
Head on over to the article, read about how to keep your fitness routines and workouts in high gear and fight through those pesky fitness doldrums. Not to toot our own horns too much, but Fit Express keeps working out fun by keeping you constantly moving, on a new piece of equipment every few minutes, and always progressing.

I just read a really cool article on CNN.com that is right up Fit Express’ alley, so to speak. In the study, a treadmill test was given to people of all different age groups. When the study wrapped, they discovered that “as people aged, their aerobic capacity — the amount of oxygen consumed while exercising — declined at higher rates with each passing decade whether they exercised or not.”
What this means, according to the article, and the researchers behind the study is that while they were somewhat disappointed that the rate of exercise didn’t effect the rate of decline more, slowing it down more noticeably, it showed just how important exercise is for the senior citizens among us. You see, the higher a person’s aerobic capacity, the higher it will be when it begins to decline, and after the decline is over.
Dr. Nieca Goldberg, a cardiologist and representative in the study says, “There is a decline with aging, but older people should be in programs to improve their regular function capacity because it will increase their independence.”
Even more proof that senior citizen’s fitness is so crucial. Hint hint, hydraulic resistance training is perfect for the low-impact type of workout that is necessary for the older community.

I suppose I’ve been posting quite a few posts lately about diet related ideas; the reason this is true, is because I think a healthy diet is essential to positive fitness results, and for this blog, an essential section. Fit Express is a company that does a lot more than just sell equipment, help set up franchises, and provide amazing customer service; Fit Express is a company that in a sense, represents a certain type of lifestyle too.
At any rate, there is a great article up that chronicles some really simple, quick, and easy ways to cut your calories throughout the day so that when you do get into the gym, you’re not trying to burn off a day worth of bad snacking habits.
The article goes throughout the course of your average day and offers little hints and tips for each different time, from Breakfast to Cocktail Hour. Check out the article and then don’t hesitate to ask us some questions. We’re more than ready for some feedback, so lay it on us!

Good evening friends and fitness enthusiasts, tonight I have a great article concerning your pre-workout diet. MSN does it again with a great article about why it’s so important to have a good pre-workout diet, and why that meal or snack should not be skipped.
From reasons like increased workout endurance, how you’ll actually burn more calories by eating before, to the amount of calories you should try to eat before you work out, the article is extremely informative and discusses a crucial aspect of fitness that is so often overlooked…the diet.
Check out the article, then get back to us and let us know what we can do to help you out in whatever area of fitness or exercise you need.

Let’s face it, everyone either does it, or has done it at one point in time. What is “it” you may ask? “It” is Cheating at your Workout. You’ve done it, I’ve done it, he’s done it, she’s done it; let’s face it, we’ve all done it, and here’s MSN’s Health & Fitness’s Top 10 Ways We Cheat At Workouts (check out the full article for in depth analysis for each one):
Funny, using Fit Express does away with quite a few of those excuses and little methods of cheating. Interesting, yes?

Is it just me or is everyone out there getting more and more junk spam mail about all these miracle pills that create miracle diets that magically turn your body into what they call a “24/7 Fat Burning Machine!”? Companies like TrimLife et. al. make their money by preying on two very existing desires of the general public: 1) The desire to be attractive and slim and 2) The desire to work as little as possible to achieve those goals.
In an email I got today, TrimLife claims to make anyone taking their product lose 10lbs in 7 days. Are you kidding me? Folks, I’m here to tell you, if you want to lose weight, and if you want to get into great physical and mental health, you must do two things…you must eat right, a balanced healthy diet that has the right caloric intake for you, the right amount of protein, sugars and carbs; and you must exercise. There really is no way around it, Eat Right + Exercise = Lose Weight and Stay Fit. A medical degree from Harvard is not required to tell you this.
So, based on the two existing desires of the general public, the desire to be attractive and be slim, and the desire to achieve those results with as little time required, look around on our site and realize the answer is here. Eat a healthy diet and workout using Fit Express equipment, for only 30-minutes a day and you’ll get the results you are seeking. I’m not promising 10lbs in 7 days, but I am promising results, and at only 30-minutes a day, I think you can afford the time to try.

Walking.About.com has a really cool article up that I just got done reading that’s helpful for a few reasons. First, it gives some good basic information about someone getting involved with circuit training, and second, it helps those of us who are involved in circuit training a few ideas to keep it fresh or more interesting.
The article even weighs the pro’s and con’s of the three major ways of actually getting into circuit training: Gym, Video’s, and Do-It-Yourself. I think the ideas behind the lists are accurate, I just think one way of really immersing yourself into it was left out; Starting your own independent fitness center, stocking it full of Fit Express equipment, and realizing the sky is the limit for potential.
Check it out, then let us know what it is You need!

While sifting through emails and Bloglines searches today, I came across an article I hadn’t seen before about a fitness center and sports club that opened up awhile back called Body Bar in Pennsylvania. The club looks great and the article goes on to call it glamorous; one such reason they excitedly speak about is the use of Fit Express hydraulic exercise equipment in their featured fitness center.
That’s right, our equipment is used in their circuit training and they’ve found the benefits of Hydraulic Resistance Training to be far surpassing their goals. They are using our Laser Series for Men’s Fitness and our Traditional Line for Women’s Fitness. My favorite quote from the article is this,
“Instead of a the jerky, unstable motion often used when working out with free weights, the “push and pull resistance training” with the Fit Express equipment makes for a smoother, safer workout according to Tim.”
Lots of people are learning to love the benefits of hydraulic resistance training, and some, apparently, are even going a very recommended step further by opening their own club. Talk to us today and let’s see just how much we can do for you!

I think something that everyone with fitness in mind should have at their disposal is a good calorie calculator to see just how many calories they are burning on a daily basis. Over at CaloriesPerHour.com, they have a great one that even lets you select whatever type of exercise you are doing throughout the day. Not only that, but you can also see how many calories your random daily activities burn.
Keeping track of your calories you burn while working out is an essential part of making sure you maintain a healthy diet, and lifestyle. Select “circuit training” from the drop down menu and see just how amazing of a workout it can be for you!

I was thinking about it today, and something I’ve noticed a lot in my years of working out, going to gyms, lifting weights, and running around at various fitness centers, is the extreme lack of women and older people in these establishments. Now, I’m no expert, nor do I claim to be, but something I think accounts for a lot of the reason that women and those a little more ‘on in years’ tend to shy away is the whole intimidation factor.
Now, that said, I’m also not older, nor am I female, but I do know for a fact that walking into a crowded gym and seeing huge bulky weight machines, stacks of dumbbells and free-weights, and pulley and lever systems all over the place, is a frightening thing. You don’t know where to begin, you don’t know what to do, how much to lift and so you go once, then never go again. The beauty of hydraulic fitness, and hydraulic exercise equipment in relation to women’s fitness, and senior citizen’s fitness is how unintimidating it all is. The machines are sleek and ready to use; they automatically adjust to give you a perfect workout, and even better than that, you can start your OWN independent fitness center where you set the rules…heck, why go to a Curves when you can use Fit Express where you even get your own logo on the equipment and the front door!
So, ladies, and those graced with age, enough with the intimidating atmosphere of other gym’s and fitness centers, come to Fit Express and start something great. The future of women’s fitness and senior citizens healthy lifestyle is here and now.
