Finally, some scientists and doctors are getting together and offering people in Tennessee a free 8-week wellness program to really inform people just how they should go about doing their part to stop the growing epidemic of obesity.
Essentially, the program will touch on the following topics, although a lot more is sure to be discussed:
Think of what could happen if a whole heck of a lot more people started doing stuff like this. How many more people would be informed and start down the road to a healthy lifestyle. I know Fit Express bends over backwards every year to inform as many people as possible about the benefits of healthy fitness routines. Come and get ahold of us, and we’ll tell you all the ways we’re willing to help!

I just kicked of my Wednesday morning with something that I think a lot of men and women out there will appreciate: 10 easy ways to burn fat throughout your day. I know a lot of people get discouraged when they workout, or don’t in some people’s cases, and don’t see any results. Well, first of all, chances are good you’re not doing the right style of workout for your needs, and second of all, for those that don’t have “time” to workout, you’re not doing all you can during the day to burn that extra layer of fat off.
The ideas are cool and I hadn’t thought of some of them; I think by trying to implement even a few of them, like the extremely simple, “Take the longest route possible when you have to walk anywhere,” can help a lot of people just get their body moving again. We have adapted into much more sedentary creatures, and by making little changes to get our bodies up and stirring again, we can then move into full body workouts.
30 minutes people, that’s all I am asking; 30 minutes of circuit training with hydraulic resistance machines at Fit Express and you’ll change the way you look, feel, and think about exercise.

I just found a cool article about figuring out what your “fitness personality” is in order to help you stay better motivated, more interested, and get better results.
By knowing your fitness personality, you reach a better understanding of not only the way your mind approaches the idea of fitness, but it helps inform you as to what you need to do to push yourself, without burning out or fading away. I think a lot of people approach styles of fitness that do not fit their own personal personality or style, and as such lose interest, and neglect to find a new way.
Head over, figure out what fitness personality you are, and guaranteed Fit Express has a workout that will match it. People of any age, and either sex can get involved with an intense workout that won’t leave you aching and sore the next morning. Stop waiting, start checking us out!

Ok, ok, I admit it, again…I am a ‘tool geek.’ I love little interactive tools that help do anything from count calories, to calculate body fat, to whatever. When these little tools are fitness oriented, I’d dare say I’m in heaven. Today, I found a cool Activity Finder that helps you find ways to get out and exercise that you’ll actually enjoy.
Head over to the Interactive Activity Finder (say that 5 times fast) and enter in your own personalized data, see what suggestions it brings up, who knows, you may just find a new way of staying fit. My advice however, is much simpler. Come to Fit Express, workout for a half-hour in a fun, interactive and warm atmosphere, get in good shape, lose weight, and stay healthy.
On a separate note, Fit Express just wants to send our thoughts, prayers, hopes and condolences out to anyone that had anything to do with Hurricane Katrina. What a terrible display of nature’s power; we’re thinking about all of you.

There’s a great article that came out yesterday that offers some very promising news to the men of our country; I’m listening intently. Here is what the findings are, and I’m going to bold the part that I love the most: “No matter what their cholesterol level, men who are physically fit cut their risk of dying from heart disease by 50 percent.”
50%!!! Imagine that all it takes to reduce the risk of so many men in the world dying of heart disease, is just staying physically active, and actually getting out and exercising. As far as I’m concerned, excuses about why you can’t exercise just continue to dwindle, and I’d be shocked and amazed if anyone could come up with a good excuse that I’d actually buy as to why they couldn’t work out. Time issues? Nope, Fit Express offers a 30 minute workout. Too hard for you? Nope, Fit Express lets you work at the exact intensity level you can handle, no more, no less. Not worth it? Nope, see every single post I’ve ever done on this Fit Express Blog for reasons why that just isn’t true.
Time to face facts, working out is necessary, and the benefits are extraordinary. Go read the article, realize what you’re missing out on by not working out, and then come back to us, ask us some questions, and we’ll get you started, or keep you going!

I just found a pretty cool article about something that most people either don’t know about, or don’t realize is true; the truth is, over-training can be as damaging as under-training when it comes to working out. Too often when people are trying to get into shape, trying to lose weight, trying to prepare for some sort of fitness event, they train, hard, sometimes too hard. When this happens, you hit a wall, and hit it hard.
Over-training can cause constant fatigue, workout digressions, strains, pains, aches and tears. During these times, the article notes, what your body needs most, is what you are giving it least…rest.
It’s not counter-productive to balance rest with working out; too many people workout too long and fatigue their muscles to a point in which repairing them becomes the entire goal of your body, rather than building, and strengthening. This, folks, is why the 30 minute workout is so perfect. In 30 minutes you can get a total body workout using circuit training that is perfectly balanced and offers the right amount of resistance to your physical fitness level. No more over-training, no more chronic fatigue, no more tears, aches, pains or strains.
Come to Fit Express, learn about our style of working out and transform your body and life. Enough over-training!

I just found a pretty cool article in a blog based in Shanghai. See, LOTS of people, in lots of different countries know how important it is to exercise; it’s time we all got the hint here in America.
At any rate, the article speaks about how with increases in technology and changes and the style of work being done today, the amount of actual movement in people is dropping drastically. This leads to shallower breathing, increased heart rates, decreased physical health, and opens the door for a slew of potential health risks.
To quote the article:
“The most important thing to note is that the more active you are, the more you decrease your health risk profile. In other words, those levels of activity translate into less risk of cardiovascular disease, diabetes, cancer and other chronic diseases.”
It doesn’t matter what you do, although doing some things could be a lot more productive (i.e. Fit Express’s 30 minute hydraulic resistance workout) just do something. Diet + exercise = Healthy You. You don’t even have to be good at math to figure that out.

A quick pre-bed post for you, as I have been packing all day to prepare for my move back to Montana. At any rate, I just found an awesome article about 17 ways you can save time when you hit the gym. No matter what type of gym you attend, these tips are helpful and will help you make your 30 minute workout, truly 30 minutes.
The ideas, all 17 of them are awesome and I found them to be pretty helpful. Go check them out, implement them in your healthy routine, whatever it may be, and then I strongly suggest coming back to Fit Express, asking us some questions, and finally finding out how to get involved in a 30 minute circuit training workout. Once you try it once, you will never go back, trust me.
Have a great weekend everyone, stay fit, get out and do something, and eat healthy. You’ll thank yourself Monday morning, believe me.

Senior citizen’s fitness is a huge, under-explored, extremely important and blossoming industry. For too long the elderly members of our population have been overlooked and ignored when it came to maintaining a physically healthy lifestyle. Even harder to understand and believe, is that the correlation between the benefits of physical activity and mental acuity has gone relatively unnoticed, or at least under-reported for so long.
Enter Fit Express. We have always known the amazing benefits for the senior community of a healthy lifestyle; heck, we even have an entire line of hydraulic resistance machines dedicated to our elderly customers, and future customers. Face it, the majority of senior citizens can not handle the type of workouts that they could when they were younger; a lower intensity and less jarring type of workout is necessary. Hydraulic resistance machines offer this, as well as the ability for each person to progress at their own rate.
Come check out Fit Express’s Senior Line of equipment and get back to us; let us know how we can help you, or someone you know get into better health and improve all sorts of areas of their lives.

Want to know a secret? The more litter, graffiti, and general waste that surrounds you and your living conditions, the more likely you are to be unhealthy, lacking exercise, and overweight. It may not surprise you at first, but really think about that for a second…people living in dirtier areas, areas without greenery and open space, and little to no vegetation are half as likely to engage in physical activity, and half as likely to be overweight or obese.
To me, it isn’t exactly shocking, but it is surprising in that a person’s environment can have that much control over the person’s overall health and well-being. The article says that they are not sure which comes first, the healthy living, or the green environment. To me, I think it works both ways; I think the healthier and more active people choose to be, the healthier their surrounding environment will be. Essentially, we can control it as much as it can control us.
SO, the moral of this story, get out, exercise, and in doing so, help yourself and your surrounding environment. If more of us are healthy and active, maybe our areas around us will be perked up, which could then inspire more people to get healthy and active. Funny how that works huh? Hint, hint…Fit Express, 30 minutes a day and you’re ahead of the pack. Worth it, yes? Give circuit training with hydraulic resistance machines a try, you won’t regret it.
