I’ve mentioned this before, but it’s always good to follow up one idea with more proof, or a “second opinion” if you will. That’s right, findings are showing in recent studies that people who engage in physical activity on a regular basis, i.e. more than 2 times a week, in their youth and into their middle age, cut their risk of Alzheimer’s by 60%, in addition to all of the other weight loss and fitness benefits.
I don’t know about you, but the idea of getting Alzheimer’s scares me more than I’d like to admit. I never want to get to the point where I forget the people I know and love the most. So, if working out 4 - 5 days a week now will prevent that then, I’m all for it.
Get out, get moving. Senior citizen’s reading this, you don’t have to think it’s too late. By getting active now, you can slow the onset, and even prevent it still. I urge you to try circuit training with Fit Express; you won’t leave sore, you won’t worry about injury and all you’ll see is progress.

I guess I’d never really thought of this until I read this article, but it actually makes some sense. When you need to lose weight, a better way of losing weight is focusing on working out towards a goal of good health, rather than directly losing the pounds. Why is this?
Well, according to the article, and I agree, when people focus on weight loss instead of boosting their health, if the weight loss isn’t reached as quickly as they hope, or the pounds don’t fall as fast as they want, they will give up the healthy eating and exercise routines.
When you focus on just gaining good health, boosting your endurance and cardiovascular fitness you’ll always be moving towards your goals and your attention will shift from pounds falling off…but rest assured, they will be falling. Try 30 minutes a day of Fit Express’s hydraulic circuit training. All the goals you set will be met, and surpassed.

As the title suggests, using TV as a method of bribing getting your kids to exercise may not be that bad of an idea.
A Canadian study tried bargaining with kids, for ever 400 steps they could add to their pedometers that were with them at all times, they’d earn an hour of TV watching time. 14 children were given this option while the other half was not awarded anything for their steps. Results were promising: 69% rise in physical activity in the TV group compared to 16% in the other. Furthermore, changes in the children’s BMI’s also was changing.
So, I guess the point of this whole study is, just get your kids exercising, however you want to or have to do it, just get them moving. 30 minutes a day of hydraulic resistance circuit training, 800 steps, whatever you want. Get Them Moving. End of story.

This one is aimed directly at our senior citizen readers out there. For a long time the idea has remained that growing older and gaining weight HAVE to come hand in hand. Even the North American Menopause Society agrees that most women change from a pear shape, to that of an apple.
According to the article, we CAN do something about it. With metabolic rates falling, weight gain rising, I can imagine it’d get tough; luckily there is a 3 Step Program in the article on how you can beat it. The 3 steps aren’t hard, aren’t revolutionary and are not outlandish; they are simple ways to help your body work at it’s best, and lose the weight you don’t want, and more importantly, keep it off.
Head over to the article, read up all 4 pages, and then head back to Fit Express. I guarantee if you stayed on a consistent routine with 30 minutes a day of hydraulic resistance training, that weight you want gone, would stay gone.

Cravings, and how you respond to them can make or break your weight loss and healthy lifestyle plans. If you cave in to every one of them, you won’t reach your goals, simple as that. I just found an article that is pretty helpful on helping you Deal with those cravings, and avoid them all together.
Head over and check out what the article has to say, here is the very abbreviated list of ways to conquer cravings. I urge you to check out the full list, but here you go:
- It will pass.
- Drink up.
- Give in… just a little.
- Keep it real.
As I mentioned, those are the very abbreviated versions. Go to the article itself and read about why, and how they help. If I can, I want to add a way to the list: Exercise Your Way Through It. Yep that’s right, when you get a craving for food, go exercise. It works! 30 minutes at Fit Express. Enough said.

Apparently it’s just a day to discuss diabetes. I just read another startling article about how widespread diabetes is becoming. Now, diabetes has reached the very tip top of the list as far as greatest health risks in all of Asia.
Asia, as you well know, is the most highly populated area in the world. For a disease to beat the bird flu and AIDS combined, in the most populated area in the world, is a big deal. The rate of diabetes in Asia has passed that of Europe already.
Folks, we need to figure this out. Exercise Exercise Exercise. As I mentioned in the last few posts, losing 5 to 7% of your body weight can greatly reduce your risk of developing diabetes. It’s all of our health on the line. Lets fix this.

In conjunction with the last post, about the CDC finding that 21 million American’s have diabetes, and 41 million more have pre-diabetes, I thought this article was more than appropriate.
I do not have diabetes, so I can’t relate here, but apparently those that do have it, can often have complications that make exercising difficult. According to the article, once peripheral neuropathy sets in, which is nerve damage to hands and feet, the ability to feel cold, hot, and pain is taken away. This conditions affects 15% of the 21 million people affected by diabetes.
So, should you stop exercising? NO! Doctors are finding that exercise is actually helping to slow the neuropathy and increase blood flow and sensation to those areas. Try an exercise that won’t leave you in pain, and is the perfect amount of intensity for you. Fit Express has hydraulic resistance machines that will offer the perfect workout and not leave you sore the next day.

Wow. That is all I can really say. New studies done by the CDC have found that 21 MILLION American’s have Diabetes. 21 Million.
I knew it was bad, but I didn’t know it was quite that bad. Know what’s worse? Another 41 million people are said to have pre-diabetes. So, 62 million people in this nation are affected in some way, by this disease.
The CDC did say, that those with pre-diabetes or Diabetes, can help themselves SO much just by losing 5 - 7% of their body weight, exercising daily and eating a healthier, more balanced diet. Again, come to Fit Express and we’ll help you take care of the exercise part.

Night or Day, before work or after, lunch or dinner? Does it matter when you exercise? That is the question posed to a group of fitness experts this month in this article.
What seems to be the case is everyone thinks that while “technically” you can exercise at absolutely any time of the day, the “best” time to workout for everyone, is the “best” time for them. Meaning, work out when you feel it’s best for you, and then work out at that time everyday. Some people are morning people, some people are not, figure out which you are, and do it.
Circuit training can help you no matter when you do it. By using hydraulic resistance machines, you can work out everyday and never feel sore or achey the next day. Fit Express has truly created the “perfect” workout. Come check us out!

I can’t even count how many reasons I’ve given since starting this site to exercise. A Lot, that’s where I’ll leave it; based on that, it’s really nice to find a site where someone else doesn’t mind providing some reasons why you should be exercising.
So, head on over to this article, where 37 separate reasons have been compiled on why you should be exercising at least 30 minutes a day, 5 days a week.
I agree with all of them, after you read them, comment here on any you may not agree with, or don’t know about!
