As if you needed yet another reason to exercise! Pretty sure on this website I have chronicled more reasons, incentives, and motivations to exercise than I ever thought possible. Well, lucky for you, my job is to continue to provide those reasons.
Today’s reason to exercise: It keeps your arteries clean as a whistle, which then helps to prevent heart attacks and stroke. Can’t argue with that now can you? Exercise apparently lowers all your bad cholesterol while boosting your good cholesterol. It also reduces chances of getting blood clots, and lowers the body’s ability to get diabetes or other conditions.
So, cleaner arteries, that sounds nice to me. Head over and read the article, get excited about the prospects, then come back to Fit Express and figure out how you can get yourself and your entire family involved in hydraulic resistance circuit training. Fit Express is the industry leader, why go anywhere else?!

Well, add yet another country to the list. Now, our neighbors to the North have a little more to brag about than hockey, Alanis Morrissette and Avril Lavigne…they are officially healthier than all of us American’s. Man, we better get on the ball.
According to a new study done by Harvard researchers,
“Americans are 42 percent more likely than Canadians to have diabetes, 32 percent more likely to have high blood pressure, and 12 percent more likely to have arthritis.”
Well then. This study comes just a month after a similar study concluded that even the Poorest members of England’s population are healthier than American’s. What is going on with us? Good Lord people, lets get on the ball and make the changes we need to make. I guess that’s why you’re here, on this site, now isn’t it? Well, stay tuned and we’ll see what we can do!

Let that title sink in for a second…here, I’ll say it again so it really does, Nearly 1/3 of all American Adults, 73 million people in this country, either already have, or are at serious risk of getting, Diabetes.
Wow. Almost 1/3 of the entire country. We all know why this is happening; poor diets, poor exercise habits, more stress, less time to take care of ourselves, and now look at the result.
I don’t even need to lecture on this one, just read the headline of this post again, then read the first quote in bold. Head over and check out this article, get properly freaked out, then start making the changes you need to make in your life, Please!

The Best quote from the article I just read was the very first line, it should be like a mantra to all those who want to exercise but feel like they don’t have time: “If you’re short on time, don’t skip your workout, circuit train.” I couldn’t agree more.
The article goes on to say how great circuit training is for maximizing your effort and return, while minimizing the time you put into it. By properly completing either an aerobic or resistance circuit training circuit, you will be using every muscle in your body, using it quickly and intensely, and by skipping that little rest period in between every set, you’re ensuring that your body is blasted constantly. The results won’t lie.
Go check out this awesome article on circuit training, then come back to Fit Express; we’re the industry innovating company that has been revolutionizing circuit training since the start. Come to the pro’s.

I’m not a parent yet, that much is true, but I do know, when I am a parent, I’m going to make pretty darn sure my kid gets just enough exercise that he/she won’t want to kill me for making them do it. Call it tough love. That said, I just found an article that offers 50 EASY ways to get your kid exercising; the ways are fun, easy and you know what, just might prevent that kid from wanting to kill me, or you, so there you go.
Head over and read the full list of 50 ways, it’s packed full of great ideas…before that, here are 10 reasons from that list:

Most people would read that title and think, “Phew, it’s not just us!” I read that title and think, “Oh no, it’s not just us.”
The fact that Canada is getting a failing grade in fitness is not at all reassuring. Countries that used to be fit and not have to worry too much about weight gain, countries like Japan and China, France, and even Canada awhile ago, are now falling prey to the obesity battle as well.
Head over and read this updated article on Canada’s fitness, then come back to Fit Express so you can stop the slide. We have to beat this, we have to, and the only way to do so is to start Right now.

You know, most often I really do not like big corporations and companies…most often I don’t really trust them and I think they are out only to make money and benefit themselves. I guess that thinking kind of changed a little bit yesterday even though I know they are doing this ALSO to make money, they are also going to help a lot of people in the process.
Apple and Nike, two behemoths in the corporate world, have teamed up to create a product that can really help people get motivated to exercise. The product, a chip that goes into your shoe, shooting wireless data to your iPod Nano waiting on your arm, monitors your pace, distance, and other data. It also plays certain songs to “motivate” you and even tells you into your headphones your pace, distance and how hard you’re working. Wow.
Bottom line is this, people live iPod’s, people love music, and if there is a fun new hybrid of music and fitness, I feel like more people will participate, THAT makes me happy. Check it out!

I’ve mentioned this one before, that’s for sure, but when new information comes to light, I consider it my personal duty to present it to you. That way, you’re armed with all the ammunition you can possibly handle to fight back obesity, disease and early death.
This time, it’s another, confirming article about the direct link between sleep-deprivation and weight gain. Turns out that new research is showing that middle aged women who get 5 or less hours of sleep per night weigh, on average, 5.5 lbs more than those that get at least 7. In addition, people who sleep less do not only weigh more baseline, but they tend to gain more weight over time than those that sleep more.
Bottom line, keep up your dieting, your exercising, your 30 minutes a day at Fit Express, but DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT neglect your sleep. I know we’re all busy, but get 8 hours of sleep a day, every day. Your body will thank you.

I think everyone in the world, at some point, has been all excited about starting a new fitness routine; we start off fast and strong, feeling healthy and proud of ourselves for doing it…then what happens? We teeter off, we skip a workout here or there, we eat a little less healthy every week, before you know it, during “work out time” we’re watching TV.
So, how do we make it last? How do we keep fitness from seeping out of our lives and becoming a daily staple? Well, according to this article, there are 3 key things you must have, in order for fitness to last, and last, and last some more. The three things are:
1)Commitment - Without commitment, you’re wasting time. You have to decide you want to make a change, not just think about it, you have to really decide you want to do the things required to make the changes you wish to see.
2)Balance - You know what’s not balanced? Fad diets, infomercial products, diet pills…that’s not balance. Balance means eating right, working out right, and doing things balanced for your body type, your athletic ability, and your commitment level.
3)Consistency - This is probably the most important and ties the first 2 together…if you are consistent, you will lose weight, you will keep the weight off, and you will be as healthy as you can be. Stay consistent and succeed, don’t, and you’ll fail.
There you go, head over and read the full article, then head back Fit Express and realize that we offer all 3 of those ways in one easy package.
